Tilbury Fort
Very interesting place to visit, lots of history and great views and buildings to explore. Shame that there isn't a cafe but take your own food+drink you can have a lovely picnic in the grounds. Glad I visited this historical site

Parking in the village it is a short walk. We went early and it was really quiet... it was a shame the surplus of staff weren't on hand to answer some of questions which would have made the experience more full. They pretty much said the facts are all on picnic benches. Family 6, very reasonable entry fee. . Wish we had gone later in the day and gone to the pub in the village after.

Lovely walk from the Riverside car park up to the castle. This walk isn't suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs though! When we got to the castle, we were given a basic introduction to the castle, and off we went! A nice walk around the ruins and up to the towers. You can take a picnic which would extend your visit. We were probably on site for maximum of an hour. There are toilets and a small gift shop. This is free for National Trust Members!

Castle Hill Roman Fort
It's a nice place. There's not really much to expect from it except a short walk and a good view. May be misleading calling this a historic destination as really there's no remains of any fort. Other than too much litter, it's nice though.

Manorbier Castle
Not a large castle but a good day out for young families. Good facilities and on the day we attended, archery. It’s a short walk up from the public car park, which also serves the beach and walks along the Wales Coast Path.

Cliffe Fort
Free and educational! I think it's amazing his Lloyd Victorian Fort is just there on the side of the Thames. Great to see as part of the coastal walk.

Clifford's Fort
Indywidualna, zardzewiała, wyspawana z stalowych płytek figura przedstawiająca siedzącego rybaka. Rdza nadaje rzeźbie fajnego charakteru. Klimatyczne miejsce podobnie jak całe wybrzeże. Do tego krzyki mew i zapach dochodząc z pobliskich pubów i wędzarni daja niesamowity odbiór.

Brean Down Fort
Amazing place to visit!.. the one thing that isn't obvious though is the long walk to get to it so be prepared!! And, sadly like all our war based historical buildings it is crumbling away!.. this needs to be saved really..
